FREEDOM WRITERS highlights powerful American texts focused on freedom and democracy brought to life through the powerful music of American composers.
Featured will be Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, Julia Wolfe’s Letter from Abigail, Howard Hanson’s Song of Democracy, and more.
This program captures the discord and struggles of eras past, while expressing great hope for the future.
America means something different to each of us, and it sounds different to each composer.
Come celebrate 250 years of the American experiment with us, and hear the kaleidoscopic tapestry of America set to music!
